Activity of the parliamentary television channel "Rada" is conditioned by the Resolution of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the Coverage of Parliament´s Work.
Pursuant to the Resolution, TV Channel "Rada" performs live broadcast of the plenary meetings after the Chairman opens the sitting.
However, Oleksandr Yefremov, Deputy Head of the Faction "Regions of Ukraine", Chairman of the Committee on Standing Orders, demanded to perform live broadcast from the session hall blocked by the representatives of the Faction "Regions of Ukraine" notwithstanding the said Resolution. In response, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, suggested that Oleksandr Lavrynovych, First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine opened the meeting, creating the conditions for the live broadcast from the session hall. As the meeting was not opened, the TV Channel "Rada" did not perform live broadcast from the session hall.
On Friday, 3 April, at 3 p.m. the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will make an official statement concerning the latest events (conference hall).
